Support for local economy in Zaventem
The Zaventem municipality wants to continue its efforts to strengthen local trade in Zaventem in 2024. CityD has already been involved in several trade and city-centre support projects in Zaventem since 2020. Based on the investigative preliminary process in 2020-2021, it was already decided to develop a digital platform for Zaventem traders at the end of 2021. This tool was incidentally used as a promotional tool for local traders. Also in 2023 and 2024, the Zaventem municipality will continue on this momentum and take action to improve the interaction between traders themselves and the cooperation between traders and the municipal administration. Together with the municipal administration and local traders' associations, an annual programme was drawn up once again.
CityD-WES was also closely involved in the launch of www.winkelinzaventem.be and developed an action plan to keep this website up-to-date and to promote it. In this context, many contacts were also made with local traders so that CityD certainly does not sound unfamiliar and has already created a lot of confidence.
From the current engagement, we are growing further towards a structured cooperation. Some of the tasks:
- Creation of event calendar
- Promotion of www.winkelinzaventem.be and Facebook page
- Broad communication and promotion
- Support of evening markets Vilvoordelaan and Sterrebeek
- Elaboration of end-of-year campaign Vilvoordelaan and Sterrebeek
- Project administration and project management
This project fits within our activities on city marketing and centre management. CityD assists governments and organisations to make cities and towns attractive to residents, visitors and businesses.
